" Learning is the eye of the mind "

Hello there, welcome to our webpage, " The Linguistic Scholars "
Our main purpose of creating this web page is to enlighten all the viewers about our academic progress throughout the year. Particularly in the English lessons which are divided into two sets. English Language & English Literature. Hosted by Mrs. Ruth Kwendo.
Hope you have a great time browsing this page !

Firstly we begin with introducing ourselves, we are grade 11 students from the Aga Khan Mzizima Secondary school in Dar es salaam, Tanzania completing our last year of IGCSE in the year 2015. This blog will entirely focus upon the learning techniques we used to reach this stage, what we did and how it has a positive impact on our learning and of course, most importantly the relation between the teacher and the students.

We began our IGCSE journey in August 2013. English language mainly focuses upon daily use of language and various types of writing styles which we have now gained alot of confidence and have the courage to face any challenge given to us in english writing.

However, English literature is the study of various pieces and styles of writing. mainly; Poems and stories.

In English language, we started off describing our life in mzizima and how it has been ever since we were here.continuing with, types of writing from the basics of writing to the most advanced types in modern formal and informal English language.

We adopted various learning techniques to improve our capability in many ways. from group tasks, individual tasks, to public speaking and still discovering new and creative learning techniques such as working with role plays. However, how can you learn English without the Shakespearean legend ? As of now we are referring to " The merchant of Venice". which is indeed a great book i must say, easy to understand and humorous in its own way.

We will be forever grateful to our English teacher for her endless support and encouragement.
